Lindsey Rowland is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran who served ten years on active duty, with a total of two years in Iraq, most notably in 2006 during "the Surge." She is a Bronze Star Medal (BSM) recipient and earned the Combat Action Badge (CAB) and Parachutist Badge. She served as a logistics officer and was later selected as a Foreign Area Officer (FAO) for Germany. As a logistics officer, Lindsey was the sole female company commander in an Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT), 2d Brigade, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum. She was among the top commanders among her infantry peers. Lindsey later attended the Defense Language Institute (DLI) and studied German.
Lindsey worked in the political section of the U.S. Embassy in Berlin and studied for her master’s degree at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Her final thesis took her to Iran and Cuba. She was also selected as a candidate for White House Fellows in 2018.
Lindsey started on the Hill as a military fellow, assisting a Congress member who chaired the Military Personnel Subcommittee on the House Armed Services Committee. As a registered lobbyist, Lindsey worked for Franklin Creek Consulting, where she lobbied Congress to advance the interests of Native American groups, including Native veterans, with a shared portfolio of over a million dollars. Clients included the Muscogee Creek Nation, Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut, and the Midwest Alliance of Sovereign Tribes.
